Some people wonder if it is absolutly necessary to have a college degree when working in todays job market. I believe that having a college education is crucial. The economy has taken a decline in the past feew years and in effect to this the job market has also taken a turn for the worst. Jobs have become extremley difficult to obtain and highly competitive. Because companies a less likely to hire individuals that they are scared to become a liability; they are extremley cautious when hiring someone without some type of college education, especially when they can offer someone else who has earned a degree the same amount of pay.
My husband has not yet had the chance to enroll for college due to his previous education mishaps. The amount of grief we have had in the past trying to find him a job is unmentionable. The money hey was making at a golf course he was working at was unable to support our growing family. After a plethora of resumes he had sent out and interviews he had gone on his hopes started to die down. It seemed like nobody wanted to risk the chance of hiring someone that didnt have college credentials. We eventually found him a steady line of work, but even know the amount of money he makes isnt nearly as substantial as the money he would make had he earned a degree prior to applying for the company.
The fact of the matter is that college is imperative for a succesful lifestyle. A person doesnt necessarily need a college education to survive, but depending on the kind of future that person is seeking it might be in his or her best intrest to earn some type of college, even technical, credit. The line of work that a person with no college education obtains is very different from the type of job that a person with a degree can have. Usually jobs that accept less educated individuals, envolve strenuous labor, pay much less, do not offer any type of health insurance, have very demanding and non flexible schedules, and are much harder to advance in.

The end of the world
Some people believe that the day the world is going to end has been predetermined for us by someone other than GOD. Mayan calenders, philosophers, and even preachers have set dates that they believe the world will end on. I have to disagree with all of these dates. I personally believe that GOD is the only one with the power or knowledge to know when the world will end. It is selfish of mankind to think that we can guess what day he has planned for that when he has purposely kept us from not knowing. If we were supposed to know the day our existence on earth will be over it would have been laid out for us in the bible. Although we are are given some details about the events leading up to the end of mankind these are not ment to be looked at as clues for when we should decide what will happen.

I went to msn.com this morning to read the headlines and on there i found an intriguing article about a sports fan that died while trying to catch a ball. He fell almost 20 feet from the stands at the rangers stadium during the ball game. Apparently one ball player hit the ball into the stands during the second inning, while trying to dive to retrieve the ball the man fell over the side to the ground. I can only imagine what he was thinking, and i can only guess that the exctiment he had about catching that ball overpowered his better judgment. As horrible as this accident is it makes me wonder if sports are getting to serious. Even though sports can be entertaining to watch i have never been an amid sports watcher. i know some people that make sure they clear and make their schedules around their favorite sports shows and events. Some of these individuals take these extremes even further, and sometimes people can get so excited that they forget to actually think before they act.I just hope that people remmember that sports can be entertaining without being overly competitive.
